An introduction to Myofascial Release Self Care/ Yin yoga
This workshop will include a short lecture on the human fascial network, rebounding our tissues through movement, and a full self care home routine to keep your fascia healthy and free of restrictions. There will be therapy tools used in class, with the option of purchasing. We will end the workshop with a Yin Yoga session and Q&A.
There will be a mixture of a lecture on the fascia and the role it plays in our bodies, Myofascial release exercises, and yin yoga with hands on assists. We will also cover some self care techniques and tools that can be used at home for the students to practice on a daily basis.
What is Fascia and Myofascial Release?
Myofascial Release is a full body, hands on technique that was developed and refined by Physical Therapist John F Barnes. Our Fascia is a three dimensional web that surrounds and connects every structure of our body, even on a cellular level. Traditional stretching does not address the deep layers of connective tissue. Fascia has 2000lbs of tensile strength per square inch in the human body, so releasing the fascial system takes time, patience, and awareness.

Jeanette started teaching yoga in 2014. She trained under Pedro Franco of Premananda Yoga School to obtain her 200RYT yoga certification. She started her yoga journey teaching heated vinyasa, power yoga, and pranayama. Over time, her teaching style shifted from power flow to a more therapeutic, strength building and alignment focused practice. Her journey into yoga inspired her to pursue a deeper knowledge of the human body. She completed training as a massage therapist in 2017 and has gone on to study myofascial release therapy with physical therapists all around the country. Jeanette has taken her love of anatomy and fascia, and combined it with her love of yoga to create a workshop that will allow others to embark on a healing journey unlike any other. She has dedicated her life to being a student so she can continually become a better teacher and transmit these teachings to her community infused with love.
