This workshop will be an introduction to mindfulness, connecting to the body during every day activities, including meditation and yoga and other self healing practices. Tonya Allen, a Licensed Massage Therapist and Myofascial Release specialist will explain and demonstrate how myofascial release corrective bodywork can help you move better in life and with yoga. This type of massage, or bodywork facilitates the healing process by addressing fascia restrictions and compensation imbalances in the body. This workshop will include a short lecture, demonstration, and Q&A followed by meditation and restorative yoga.

Dr. Katelyn Carpenter is a Physical Therapist in Murfreesboro with advanced training in Integrative Manual Therapy and Functional Movement Assessments. She has 6 years of experience working with patients with spinal pain, sports injuries, workplace injuries, whiplash injuries, surgical repairs, and neurological conditions. With 10 years of experience practicing yoga and now a yoga teacher, she has an intensive knowledge of poses to help in the recovery of various ailments, as well as the restorative benefits of yoga to prevent future imbalances.
