What is Kitchari? Kitchari is a “stew” made up of Mung Beans, Rice, Ghee, and Digestive spices. the combination of beans and rice creates a balanced protein that is easy to digest, nourishes the tissues, boosts strength, and increases vitality. Mung beans are the most easily digestible bean and have the capability of “scraping” the intestins; they have detoxifying properties while also being rejuvenative. Kitchari can be prepared on it’s own or with the addition of seasonal vegetables.
Planning on joining us? Thinking about joining us? It’s a great idea to begin weaning off of caffeine, sugar, eat, etc. so that you can have an easier time during the cleanse process…gentler on the system (and the mind) than going “cold turkey”.

About Courtney and her Ayurveda journey
I have been “officially” studying the holistic health science of Ayurveda for the last year and a half through The Shakti School, and am a Certified Ayurvedic Wellness Coach. By March of next year I will be a Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor. I have “unofficially” been studying Ayurveda since 2009. My journey started when I saw my first Ayurvedic Practitioner, Dr. Siva Mohan of Ayurveda by Siva. I worked with her on a one on one basis for a few years, learning all about myself and the practices of Ayurveda. Through our work together, I healed many health issues in addition to creating a life I truly loved. The more I practiced and learned about Ayurveda, the more I wanted to share it with everyone with whom I came into contact! I ferociously practiced on my own, and read everything I could get my hands on. I am still in love with Ayurveda, and am so delighted I get to continue to learn more each day. In addition many of the Self-Care Practices, my favorite things to share and teach about are the Food and Eating components of Ayurveda. Hence this Cleanse :-)
