Some Cleansing Options
I’ve been cleansing for years so I am willing and able to comfortably do a full 7-Day Ayurvedic Kitchari Cleanse. That may be right for you (even if you’re a first timer!), or perhaps it’s too extreme and you might want to start off with something more gentle and closer to your current state of being. I think some sort of blend of food plus habits works great. Try any of the following options, get creative and enjoy the challenge!
3, 5, or 7 days long
Mono-diet (eating basically the same thing/types of foods) of Kitchari
Mono-diet of a nourishing soup or stew (warm, cooked foods are best since they are easier to digest)
Incorporate Mung Beans since they are so cleansing (see my last email)
Eliminate any or all of the following: Meat, Dairy, Gluten
Eliminate any or all of the following: Sugar, Caffeine, (alcohol is a must)
Try to cook all of your meals at home (especially if you tend to eat out or buy pre-made meals)
Try to focus on Sattvic Foods that are lighter and more nourishing for the body and mind (see definition and list here)
Focus on meal times, food quantity, snacking habits, chewing your food fully, etc.
And for focusing on things in addition to or besides food…
Let go of habits that distract you from your actual life like Social Media, Television, obsessively checking email, You Tube Videos, etc.
Add in healthy habits that you’ve been wanting to incorporate into your daily life
Focus on how you are spending your time, who you are hanging out with, what you are listening to, and generally what you are “taking in”
Treat yourself to a massage, sauna, nature walks, etc.
Plan ahead so you set yourself up for success!
If reading through all of this is overwhelming but you are intrigued, I’d love to help support you on your Cleansing Journey. See details on the Sessions page.
